The fourth attempt to bring Marvels most famous quartet to life on the big screen, 'Fant4stic' is an utter catastrophe of a superhero movie from director Josh Trank. Starring Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell as the eponymous foursome, 'Fant4stic' tells the horribly boring story of four young kids who are gifted with supernatural powers after an accident occurs during an inter-dimensional escapade. What ensues is a terrible film with beyond-awful dialogue, painfully slow action set pieces and CGI that looks like Playstation 2 era graphics. Josh Trank is a filmmaker who I do admire greatly thanks to his tremendous 2012 breakout hit 'Chronicle' while Miles Teller of 'Whiplash' fame and 'Billy Elliot's Jamie Bell have proved themselves to be tremendous actors in the past. However, any good will I initially had for the director or the cast was immediately dissolved as 'Fant4stic' began to spiral out of control like a wayward cyclone. It's a murky mess of a film that takes itself far too seriously and severely lacks the fun of it's admittedly dreary cinematic predecessors. Oh, and if you think that the villainous Dr. Doom, one of Marvels most iconic antagonists was portrayed badly in previous incarnations, b-b-baby you just ain't seen n-n-nothing yet!
