Hitman Agent 47

 HITMAN AGENT 47

Director : Aleksander Bach
Year : 2015
Genre : Action
Rating : **1/2

Ten rows of 5 indistinct figures. The 47th figure is bald, wearing a suit with a white shirt and red tie.

'Pride & Prejudice's Rupert Friend shaves his head and dons the iconic red tie for 'Hitman Agent 47', the second attempt to bring the popular Square Enix video game franchise to the big screen after the calamitous 2007 Timothy Olyphant vehicle 'Hitman'. Directed by first time filmmaker Aleksander Bach and written by previous 'Hitman' helmer Skip Woods, 'Agent 47' once again follows the blood-stained path of the emotionless and nameless assassin who must now protect (or is it kill?) the daughter of the creator of the agent program while also avoiding the wrath of Zachary Quinto's hyper-engineered antagonist (or is he the protagonist?). The overly convoluted plot doesn't make any sense whatsoever but the video-gamey action scenes are eye-poppingly manic, Quinto has a great time as the scene-chewing baddie and Rupert Friend certainly puts more into his portrayal of the cold-stone killer than Olyphant ever did. It's silly, it's generic, it's not particularly interesting but it's mindless fun while it lasts.
