The whizzy and highly imaginative sequel to 2012's monster (s)mash hit, 'Hotel Transylvania 2' may lack some of the heart of it's original but still manages to keep it's head above the water thanks to the great voice work from it's star studded cast as well as the typically dynamic animation from returning director Genndy Tartakovsy. Taking place seven years after the events of the first film, 'Hotel Transylvania 2' sees the Mummy (Cee-Lo Green), the Wolfman (Steve Buscemi), Frankenstein's monster (Kevin James) and the Invisible Man (David Spade) helping Adam Sandler's overbearing Count Dracula bring out the inner demon from his half-human half-vampire grandson Dennis about whom he fears has failed to inherit the all-important vampire gene. As is the case with any Adam Sandler project these days, 'Hotel Transylvania 2' has been pretty much dismissed by every major critic. And quite unfairly I may add. Sure, it's no 'Inside Out' or 'How To Train Your Dragon 2' but with all due respect, it isn't trying to be. It exists to give kids an innocent and sometimes creepy laugh and it does it's job very well indeed. It's sweet, it's funny and it's filled to the brim with ghoulish gags and ghostly japes - perfect for high-spirited Halloween hijinks.
