MY TOP 10 DISASTER MOVIES
Since the dawn of cinema, film makers have endeavoured to show us how humanity could be wiped off the face of the planet; usually with as much destruction, chaos and death as is physically possible. Whether it be natural phenomena such as volcanoes, earthquakes and asteroids, disease, nuclear holocaust or even an attack from extra terrestrial life, the disaster genre is the epitome of just how nihilistic, foreboding and calamitous the art of the motion picture can be.
With the big budgeted action/disaster romps 'Pompeii' and 'Noah' roaring across multiplexes around the world, what better time to count down my top 10 disaster movies of all time.
