A Streetcat Named Bob

A STREETCAT NAMED BOB

Director : Roger Spottiswoode
Year : 2016
Genre : Drama
Rating : ***

If you're in need of a festive hug after the trials and tribulations of the American Election, Brexit and the countless celebrity deaths we've had to endure over these past 12 months, then 'A Streetcat Named Bob' is just the movie for you. Based on the hugely popular memoir of the same name and directed by 'Turner & Hooch's Roger Spottiswoode, 'A Streetcat Named Bob' tells the true story of Luke Bowen, a recovering heroin addict and Covent Garden busker played by Luke Treadaway who soon found online fame when he partnered up with a stray ginger tom. The story of a man and his cat may not sound very cinematic but thanks to a great central performance from Treadaway and the downright adorable cuteness of the titular moggy (played by the real-life Bob) 'A Streetcat Named Bob' is a charming Christmas tale of courage and friendship that should please cat and dog fans alike.
