A raunchy reboot of the campy boobs 'n beaches TV series of the same name, Seth Gordon's 'Baywatch' is a passingly entertaining yet utterly disposable crime comedy caper that like many comedy movies released today dumbs down the wit and drastically up the grossness and the gratuitousness levels to an almost obscene degree. The always watchable Dwayne Johnson stars as Mitch Buchanan, the charismatic leader of the eponymous team of Miami-based lifeguards whose serene working environment is shaken up by Zac Efron's disgraced Olympic swimmer Matt Brody who cares little for the job and more for the "scenery". But when corpses and non-descript bag of drugs begin to wash up on the shore, Mitch and Matt must learn to put their many differences aside to solve the mystery. 

Having helmed both 'Horrible Bosses' (2010) and 'Identity Thief' (2013), director Seth Gordon is no stranger to the world of immature, gross-out comedy and fans of his previous work are sure to enjoy the crassness and crudeness of 'Baywatch'. Running gags about perineums, penises and puke certainly up the compulsory yuck factor while numerous shots of big breasted women running in slow motion are sure to please the horny teenage demographic the film was so obviously made for. However, for those cinema-goers who prefer their humour with a little more bite, imagination and penache, then this is one vulgar viewing experience you'll want to be saved from.
